Dell blu ray update
Below is the step-to-step guide to play a Blu-ray disc on your Dell. Be aware that as most Dell computers aren't shipped with the BD drive you'll need to get an external one. In this window, you should click Open disc , and choose your Blu-ray disc. Then your Blu-ray movie will start playing on your Dell laptop or desktop. During the playback of the Blu-ray, you can capture screenshots from the movie by clicking the cinema icon at the bottom of the screen.
And you can hit the folder icon to view the images and then share them with you friends. Another option we recommend is to convert your Blu-ray into digital video using the Blu-ray Converter. The ripping process may take some time depending on the length of the Blu-ray movie and PC compatibility. All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic. Replies Predator 7 Thorium. Hi Atomic, Currently Dell does not have a firmware available for this drive.
Also just to let you know, the use of a non-Dell validated firmware will void the warranty on the drive. Will the drive read some moives or none at all? Best Regards God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the difference.
Okay, thanks for letting me know about that. That probably would explain why I haven't been able to find any firmware on this drive. Movies like Casino Royale and works fine but newer movies like Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Spiderman 1, 2 and 3 doesn't work with this drive.
Hi Atomic, The Blu-Ray is something new here for us so we are limited and must search for available information. Can you view the contents of the disc from Windows Explorer? Is it possible the software you use to play the movies has updates available?
What software is Dell shipping with this drive? DarrenDa 2 Bronze. I am guessing this question is about what is stated in the first screenshot.
For SGX in the bios if "software controlled" is selected 2nd screenshot then the first screen options will all be grayed out. For the second question, after looking at Intel's website, SGX comes default with the 8th gen iH. It appears to be enabled with Intel Management Engine which I installed the consumer version vice the corporate version. When I attempt to play a 4k Blu Ray it still does not play although the following error messages only shows when SGX is enabled as shown in the previous screenshots.
When I get that I will be downloading the trial version of your software for testing. OK, I am ready to test but I wanted to run the advisor to check the system. I have not yet enabled SGK in the Bios. I don't see the advisor with the software.
Mary G if you link was also meant for me, I have looked at it.. OK, it is a no go on my system. On my system the new version of that is a After I did that, I started getting the Management Engine reinstall. Since I have removed and reinstalled several times without any change, it appears this system is not capable..
